Classes for Adults
Tuesdays 9:45-11:00am
Instructor: Gail Gummin
Simple Qigong classes include music that inspires a meditative state and gentle rhythm. I teach six movements that are easily learned in a manner that gives you plenty of time to practice at your own pace. Before each class, we do a gentle warm-up that you can easily learn and practice at home for other physical activities. Health-minded handouts are offered occasionally to support your healing journey.
Qigong was developed in China thousands of years ago (the root of all Chinese Medicine), as a natural way of stimulating our own natural healing potential – our inner healing medicine. It comprises of slow specific movements that open up the Qi channels of our body, breathing patterns that help us energize or cleanse our body, and body postures that support better Qi flow throughout our body's energy system. Anyone can do Qigong... it is adaptable to any health challenge. You can do this class lying or sitting down, or standing up.
I've designed this class so that it is both fun and easy to learn. The ease of Qigong is the secret as to why it is so effective at balancing our body's energy system. When our energy is balanced, we have calmer days, a happier tummy, and enjoy better sleep. AND... our health symptoms begin to heal at a profound level. Come join us... and let's do some Qigong!

Jump into morel mushroom season (peaking May-June) with award-winning author/illustrator Jonathan Case (Little Monarchs, Over the Garden Wall, Batman ‘66, Dear Creature) as he brings his experience with naturalist illustration and foraging into a workshop that combines natural science education with approachable drawing techniques!
There’s no better way to start identifying mushrooms than by observing real specimens in a safe and fun guided session.
In this workshop, Jonathan provides students with freshly foraged examples of morels and their closely associated plants. Students will learn important background about morel mushrooms and record their unique details through notes, drawings, even splashes of watercolor!
Observational drawing is a means to see and capture the world in a way that makes sense to you as an individual. Even if you don’t consider yourself an artist (or a mushroom lover!), this workshop gives you a chance to slow down and explore these fascinating natural specimens in a low-pressure and accessible environment.
In this 90 minute workshop, you’ll learn:
Details about morel mushrooms and where/when to find them
How to avoid “lookalikes” and develop your foraging knowledge methodically
Drawing methods to capture important details with simple tools
Watercolor techniques with field-friendly brush pens
Preparation and cooking tips for morels
