Barn Quilt Design & Painting for Beginners - July 9th 10am-12pm

Allison Taylor

Learn how to design and paint your own barn quilt. You’ll create one or more 12" x 12" painted squares inspired by traditional patterns and personal flair. We’ll cover layout, color planning, taping techniques, and painting tips—no experience required! Leave with a beautiful piece of folk art ready to be displayed, or duplicated at home to even larger proportions!

Supply list (or pay instructor $7 for a supply kit):

  • 12”x12” wooden board

  • Acrylic Paint

  • Paintbrushes

  • Primer

  • Ruler

  • Painters Tape

  • Bring all supplies listed above or $7 for instructor provided materials

ABOUT THIS INSTRUCTOR:
With six years of professional teaching experience, Allison Taylor brings a thoughtful and engaging approach to every class she leads. She has taught high school biology and English for adult learners, and currently offers personalized one-on-one art lessons from her home studio.

Allison's passion for calligraphy has flourished over the past five years, with a focus on Gothic-style lettering. Her dedication to the craft has earned her top honors, including First Place in Calligraphy at the 2024 Oregon State Fair and multiple awards at the Clackamas County Fair. Allison teaches many difference styles of art - barn quilts being one of those.
