Jonathan Case
Board President & Treasurer

Jonathan Case is an award-winning author/illustrator whose work includes original graphic novels published around the world. His 2022 book, Little Monarchs, was a best book of the year from NPR, School Library Journal, and many others. Jonathan creates paintings, illustrations, and stories for companies like Disney, DC, Cartoon Network, Valve Software, and more. He lives near the Arts Center in Silverton with his family.

Anne Pinkowski
Programming Director


Anne is an artist who couples found objects with neon. Yup - like the neon you see in neon signs! She has exhibited nationally, winning numerous awards for her creative sculptural works. In addition to the fine art sculptures that she exhibits, Anne works in both mosaic and stained glass. She jokes that her walls were full and she needed to transition to making public art and work that can be displayed in her windows.

Mike Turner
Secretary

Mike is an independent filmmaker and the creator of the award-winning personal documentary The Way We Talk, which has screened around the world in many languages and contributed to a paradigm shift in how stuttering is perceived. He earned a BA in Film from CSU Long Beach and has worked with Collective Eye Films, The Immigrant Story, the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education, and many other impactful organizations.

Mike Baggetta
Board Member

Mike is an award-winning contemporary fine artist and has exhibited his artwork throughout the country and in regional galleries. Michael is also a long time board member for Art In The Pearl Fine Art & Crafts Festival in Portland, and also has a business transporting and installing fine art for Portland area collectors, college galleries, and non-profit organizations.

Kate Durrant
Board Member

Kate led the Borland Gallery's 2023 transformation. Kate is a community health nurse, mixed media artist, and lucky Silverton transplant. She is excited to be a part of the revitalization of the Art Center.
In addition to her work on the Borland Gallery transformation, Kate is responsible for Programming oversight. She works hand in hand with our Programming Director to ensure that classes and workshops meet the needs of our community. In her spare time she reads memoirs and tends to the whims of her dogs.

Megan Smith
Board Member


Megan is a quilter and textile artist who primarily uses salvaged materials to create large-scale, modern quilts with traditional roots. Dedicated to reducing the environmental impact of textile production, and an avid gleaner, she employs a wide range of traditional techniques with unusual, recycled fabrics. She has also studied the use of botanical dyes and incorporates natural dyed fabrics into her work. She owns QuiltSmithStudio, a local custom quilting service. Megan grew up in McMinnville, Oregon, and moved to Silverton in 2021. She has a background in nonprofit communications, social service administration, and a passion for community access to arts and culture.

Gary Watkins
Board Member

Gary was an engineer at Intel Corp. for more than 35 years.  He loves science, nature and science fiction including B-movies.  His pertinent background includes project management, data analysis, and a deep knowledge of databases.  He’s currently an artist working with electroluminescent (EL) wire.
