Instructor: Jonathan Case

Eisner award-winning graphic novelist Jonathan Case brings his experience working with DC Comics, Disney, Dark Horse, and many other publishers to guide students through the process of developing a story and characters from script to final art. The class will also touch on making a career as a commercial artist -- where to begin, how to support yourself, and how to build toward your life goals!


Students may be asked to put in project time outside of class.


Youth/Adults

6:30pm-8:00pm, Tuesdays at the Borland Gallery or online via ZOOM!

There are 6 in-person spots and 6 virtual spots for this class. Please select your preferred available option!


Any student under 18 must have a parent complete the Youth Class Registration Form, regardless of in-person or virtual class registration.

COVID SAFETY
Until further notice, anyone inside the Silverton Art Center, whether teacher, student, member, exhibitor, employee, etc., is required to wear a mask at all times, regardless of vaccination status. Teachers will wipe down all work surfaces before and after each class with our provided cleaning supplies. Anyone experiencing symptoms which may correlate to Covid must not attend classes until 48 hrs after such symptoms cease. These include:
  1. Fever or chills
  2. Cough
  3. Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  4. Fatigue
  5. Muscle or body aches
  6. Headache
  7. New loss of taste or smell
  8. Sore throat
  9. Congestion or runny nose
  10. Nausea or vomiting
  11. Diarrhea
In-person class attendance will be limited to 7 people, including teachers (online or hybrid classes may host more students virtually). Any students who choose not to follow these guidelines will not be allowed to attend classes at the Art Center.
