Thank you to everyone that helped us paint the Art Center! It looks so much better, and it was a pleasure to see our community in action — friends, members, teachers — all showing up to love on our buildings. We’re still finishing up here and there with trim paint, but the majority is done. As we head further into fall, a contingent of our board is strategizing on our next grant cycle that will facilitate further improvements to the Art Center — not just repairs and paint, but new cabinets and a projector system for the classroom side to improve the experiences of our teachers and students. We’re also building a financial runway for an Art Center Director staff position, and plan to post a job listing early next year. We see this position as an essential element to sustain and further develop our ongoing programs and keep the arts accessible and thriving in Silverton. We’re excited to share more about this soon!
