It’s been over a year since our Resident Artist program launched with the help of a number of local volunteers. These folks helped us staff the Community Arts Space during regular hours through the week, and we’re exceedingly grateful for their support! We learned a lol hosted visitors from near and far. The latest iteration of this program is a dedicated summer residency for an artist who receives a stipend and hosts the Borland Community Arts Space July through September — high season for visitors and family outings in Silverton. We’re pleased to welcome Samantha Kirkpatrick as our first summer resident! Stop by and say hello to Samantha Wed-Fri, 10AM-1PM (we’re open here and there on weekends, too, depending on volunteer availability). Samantha’s in the Art Space creating her own work, stocking supplies for kids, and generally making our Art Center a welcoming place!
