Come join us as we delve into the art of breaking and mending as a metaphor for the woundings of life and the beauty that can come from broken places.
The act of breaking a bowl and mending the “scars” with gold is based on the
Japanese art of Kintsugi. Kintsugi teaches us we cannot go back to the way we were before, but instead move forward with our woundings and the beauty it can bring. We accumulate grief, sorrow, pain and carry it with us. This pain is often unseen and unexpressed.
In this ceremony of breaking and mending, you will discover your storehouse of power as you acknowledge your grief and woundings. You will begin to mend that which came before, with what is now in your own unique, beautiful way.
Come and experience this restorative ceremony. Break and mend your bowl and honor the place in you where wounding and beauty coexist.
Please bring a $25 material fee. GG will supply materials for this class
