Art for Kids - Classes & Workshops

Kids ArtSilverton Arts Association has been providing quality arts instruction in the community of Silverton for more than 3 decades. Making up the other half of the Silverton Arts Center are the Greenough classroom and Park House. Here we sponsor art-related classes and workshops for the community. In the past, we have had classes ranging from life drawing, portrait painting, and woodcarving to printmaking and watercolors.

Students learn basic art skills, drawing, sketching, color values, abstraction, landscape and much more using all types of art media!

All camps, classes and workshops at Silverton Arts Association require pre-registration! Don’t miss your chance to have some fun and create great art!

Kids Art Classes
ASAP After School Art Program with Ann Altman

Students learn basic art skills, drawing, sketching, color values, abstraction, landscape and much more using all types of art media!

Instructor Ann Altman, an artist of local, regional and national acclaim has begun a series of art classes for

children under the name, After School Arts Program (ASAP),which will focus on the seven elements of art through drawing, painting, and other media.

Ann has previously taught at Salem Art Association, Silverton Arts Association, The Art Department, Willamette University summer program, Chemeketa alternative high school, and Willamette Art Center as well as participating in artist residency in Salem schools. From Ann’s website, “Creating art is my way of making sense of the world. In my paintings, clearly defined shapes fit together like the pieces of a puzzle. When the puzzle is complete, I will have brought something unique and, I hope, beautiful to fruition.”She has taught general art classes or classes focusing on drawing, painting, or oil pastel.
